Christmas is for kids!
“When it comes to our children, we want the absolute best care,” said Janis Beebe, member of the Board of Directors of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.
Both of Beebe’s grandchildren, Kaylee, 11 months, and Parker, three and a half years, were born at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. “When my daughter Christa had her children, the care was exceptional,” Beebe recalled. “I can’t say enough about the staff for all they did to make my grandchildren’s arrivals so safe and special.”
This Christmas, donations to the Health Sciences Foundation will help exceptional care for babies and children continue. Gifts will support a variety of services for the precious patients who need maternal child and paediatric care. “Donations do more than buy medical equipment especially for children; they give us all peace of mind. We can rest assured in the knowledge that, should our kids ever need care, they’ll be in very good hands here at our Health Sciences Centre,” said Beebe.

Beebe was at the Health Sciences Centre to help her grandchildren place silver stars on the Grand Christmas Tree in the main lobby. Each star bears the name of a caring person who provided a donation this Christmas season. “We hope to blanket this tree with stars!” she said. People can make a donation by calling the Health Sciences Foundation at 807-345-4673 or visiting www.healthsciencesfoundation.ca.
Because of donations from the community, the Health Sciences Foundation has advanced paediatric care through a variety of initiatives, including the recent purchase of new infant warmers. Together, we make a healthier Northwestern Ontario.
