The Linda Buchan Centre is one of 20 specialized centres in Ontario that offers coordinated and timely breast screening and assessment services. your gifts help women and men of all ages receive the breast screening, assessment services and information that they need. Your support helps provide access to easy to understand resource materials on breast health and diagnostic procedures, purchase state-of-the-art technological equipment, and provide relevant training for highly skilled healthcare professionals. Together, with the other members of The Circle of Angels, you make a significant difference in people's lives that have a breast health concern.

About Linda Buchan

Linda Buchan was a courageous advocate in the fight against breast cancer. As a role model and confidant, her efforts touched many lives across Northwestern Ontario and have left a legacy of inspiration and hope. In celebration of Linda's life and outstanding achievements, the Breast Assessment Centre at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre was named in her honour.

Linda was a Northern Cancer Research Foundation board member and founder of the Bearskin Airlines Hope Classic. She was a valued member of the Sun Life Financial team for many years. Through The Circle of Angels, we will ensure Linda's dream continues.

About The Linda Buchan Centre

The Linda Buchan Centre opened on March 26, 2006. In the first two years, coordinated breast screening and assessment services was provided to over 3,300 clients. The number of people using the Centre continues to grow with a decrease in pathology result wait times and a 400% increase in breast screening. To improve patient care, The Linda Buchan Centre now offers timely access to core biopsy - a minimally invasive method of determining a cancer diagnosis.
