Justin Trudeau to speak at charity luncheon

Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre Welcomes National Icon:
Justin Trudeau to speak at charity luncheon

Trudeau is a name famous in Canada’s history … and future.  Justin Trudeau, son of former Prime Minister of Canada Pierre E. Trudeau, will be visiting Thunder Bay in support of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.

Passionate about engaging young Canadians, Mr. Trudeau will discuss “Our roles as individuals in society” at a luncheon on Friday, March 27 at the Valhalla Inn.  The lunch with Justin Trudeau is proudly presented by the Mirabelli Corporation. Tickets are $50 and available at the Health Sciences Foundation or by calling 807-345-4673.  All proceeds support excellence in patient care for the people of Northwestern Ontario.

Recently elected as a Member of the Canadian Parliament for Papineau, Trudeau is a former chair of Katimavik, Canada’s National Youth Service Program, and is involved with several environmental groups dedicated to the preservation of the Canadian heritage, such as the Nature Conservancy of Canada. After the tragic death of his brother Michel in 2008, Trudeau became prominently involved with the Canadian Avalanche Foundation, promoting intelligent risk-taking and safety awareness of winter sports.

Born December 25, 1971, Justin Trudeau is married to Sophie Gregoire; their first child, Xavier James Trudeau, was born October 18, 2007, and the couple more recently added another member of their family with the arrival of Ella-Grace Margaret Trudeau on February 5, 2009.

Trudeau has a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from McGill University and a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia. He is currently completing a Master of Arts in Geography at McGill University.
