FAQ
Do I have to be an employee of the TBRHSC to participate on this team?
· No. The Movement is open to everyone, not just TBRHSC employees
Do I have to participate in the Thunder Bay Marathon if I register with The Movement?
· No. The Movement is a completely separate initiative. However, The Movement is a good way to begin training for The Thunder Bay Marathon Miles with the Giant because of the support and benefits it provides (ie. Training programs, support from a trainer and Registered Dietician, weekly training sessions, etc.)
Do I have to collect pledges once I register with the Movement?
· No. However, you do have to collect pledges if you are “Running for a Reason” with the Thunder Bay Marathon Miles with the Giant
What if I can’t make the Saturday Morning Runs at Fresh Air?
· The Saturday morning runs at Fresh Air is another perk The Movement provides to its members to help them train and meet their fitness goals. These sessions are informal and not mandatory. Movement participants are more than welcome to train on their own with the training program that is provided to them. Also, The Movement trains every Wednesday evening at 5:00 pm with Dr. Vergidis. These sessions begin outside the Radiation Therapy Doors (located between the professional building and the TBRHSC).
Can I get a tax receipt for my $40 registration fee?
· The registration fee is an administrative fee and not a donation. It covers the costs incurred by the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation in enrolling members. We are therefore are not allowed to issue a tax receipt for this amount.
What are the Team Building Sessions?
· The Movement will have 4 team building sessions throughout the summer that will include a group activity followed by team building exercises and a social afterwards to meet fellow Movement members.
When does the Movement Team end?
· Tentatively September 19, 2010 (the same date as the Thunder Bay Marathon). This is because the majority of The Movement members will be using The Movement as a training aid for the Thunder Bay Marathon Miles with the Giant.
How do I get involved with The Movement’s Cheer Station at the Thunder Bay Marathon Miles with the Giant?
· Movement team members (if not participating in the Marathon) are encouraged to participate at The Movement Cheer Station on September 19, cheering on their team mates as they battle the course of the marathon. Interested participants can indicate that they would like to volunteer for September 19 on The Movement registration form.
