In Memory of Long-Time Volunteers

Carol began volunteering with our Hospital in 2007. She supported patients and families in many ways over the years, through helping with quilt raffles, prevention and screening support, and most recently as an OR Liaison Volunteer. In this role, Carol provided timely updates to anxious family members in the waiting area about their loved ones having surgery. Carol was extremely passionate about this role and demonstrated a great deal of care and compassion for those she served.
Carol will be missed by her fellow volunteers and the many employees who knew her well at TBRHSC.
Mae began volunteering with the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation in 1993. Before that she was a dedicated volunteer to the McKellar Hospital Foundation. In 2007, Mae began volunteering with the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Among many other roles, Mae most recently volunteered as OR Liaison Volunteer, acting as a liaison between Recovery and families of patients in surgery. The comfort and compassion she offered these families has been an essential part of making Patient Family Centred Care possible at our hospital.
