Dr. Stewart Kennedy EVP Medical, Academics, & Regional Programs at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (our Hospital) and Dr. Gordon Porter, former Chief of Staff at our Hospital and current Interim VP, System Transformation, Integration and Quality at the North West LHIN are among the local physicians that were recognized by this year’s OMA Awards Program.

Founded in 1921, the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) Awards Program recognizes the work of physicians, residents and medical students in Ontario. Individuals are awarded for outstanding contributions of service to the OMA, the medical profession, medical science or the common good.

Award recipients are celebrated annually at the OMA awards ceremony, held at the Annual General Meeting in spring, or through local events dependent on the award category.

Several physicians based in Thunder Bay were recognized this year for their contributions and dedication to health care.
