The second annual Bullseye Chase the Case presented by Doane Grant Thornton celebrates raising $56,115.87 for breast cancer care through the Northern Cancer Fund.
Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation's second annual Bullseye Chase the Case presented by Doane Grant Thornton delivered an unforgettable night of entertainment, emotion, and community spirit, raising a final total of $56,115.87 in support of the Northern Cancer Fund for breast cancer care.
Held in the Valhalla Ballroom on April 16, the event transformed the space into a high-energy, game show–style experience. Guests were treated to a four-course meal alongside a variety of interactive experiences, including gift card Plinko, hook-a-duck, wine pull, and the ever-popular bling and travel blitzes which all sold out.
At the heart of the evening was the live game show experience, inspired by Deal or No Deal, where guests had the chance to compete for one of 20 silver cases, each hiding a prize package valued at approximately $1,000.
The evening also featured a powerful keynote address from local breast cancer survivor Ashley Aiken, whose heartfelt and honest story set the tone for the night, bringing both emotion and humour to the stage and inspiring guests to give.
This year's ambassadors also played an important role in the evening, raising $12,560 on their own. MC Spencer Hari and auctioneer Katie Nicholls were key to bringing the event to life, leading the room with energy and guiding the game show throughout the night, with ambassadors joining them on stage as case holders.
The Foundation extends its sincere thanks to Title Sponsor Josh Francis and Bullseye Games for their support, as well as Presenting Sponsor Doane Grant Thornton for helping make the evening possible. Appreciation is also extended to the community whose overwhelming support saw local businesses and artists donate more than $40,000 in prizes—a remarkable show of generosity that speaks to the strength of giving in Thunder Bay.
“The event was a tremendous success—we surpassed our $55,000 goal in support of breast cancer care, and the evening struck a perfect balance between fun and meaningful moments. I love events like this because everyone can leave knowing they've made a real difference in our community,” said Haley Werbowetski, Events Manager, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.
Funds raised will directly support the Northern Cancer Fund for breast cancer care, helping ensure patients across Northwestern Ontario have access to exceptional care close to home.
As for what's next for Bullseye Chase the Case in 2027… you'll have to stay tuned.
