The 50+ Lifestyle Expo is back on June 8, 2017 at the DaVinci Centre after last year's successful launch. Presented by Investors Group and Legacy Giving Thunder Bay, this free Expo is aimed at those 50 years old and up. Up to fifty local businesses will be present and on display with booths and workshops to provide information on everything from retirement savings, travel, executorships, and fitness and health.
“There are a lot of people 50+ in Thunder Bay. As we found at last year’s event, many of them are looking for exactly this type of information,” said Emey Hendricks, Executive Assistant at Investors Group and one of the coordinators of the event. The Expo is designed to provide practical information for people in age 50 and older to help them prepare for the next phase of their lives.

“For many people, the workshops were the highlight last year and we intend on having a full slate of them this year to provide advanced information,” Hendricks said. Some of the hour-long workshops include “How to Stay Mobile As You Age” presented by Josh Gillingham of Fit Body Boot Camp, “How to Keep Your Brain Healthy” presented by the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay, and “Investing Success For and During the Retirement Years” by Larry Lovis of Investors Group.
Hourly draws will be held throughout the day as well, and the Door Prize is a gift certificate from Happy Time Tours and Travel. The Lifestyle Café is back again so that attendees can have a place to sit back and relax in between exploring all of the booth displays.
Investors Group initially developed the Expo because consultants found that clients in this age group were seeking the same kinds of information – and many of Investor Group’s small business clients had valuable services to meet those needs. The 50+ Lifestyle Expo makes it easy for people to find out more about those services.
“We’re here to ensure our clients’ success – not just financially, but in life,” Hendricks said.
Admission is free and registration is not required. For more information including on becoming a vendor, please call Emey Hendricks at (807) 345-6363 ex.224.
