Ruth Brickell is one of the Health Sciences Foundation’s dedicated volunteers. No matter what the task is she is always excited and eager to lend a helping hand. For the past 10 years she has not only given her time and talents but also the help of her wonderful husband Leonard.  Both Ruth and Lenny have given countless hours to help with special events including selling raffle tickets through the Foundation and other charities such as Our Kids Count.  Not only will you find Ruth selling tickets, she also provides administrative support in the Foundation office as a member of our team.  Outside the office Ruth and Lenny volunteer as marshals for the Caribou Charity Ride, and participate each year in collecting pledges by riding in the Motorcycle Ride for Dad.

Apart from volunteering, her passion is hitting the road on her motorcycle. In the summertime Ruth and Lenny spend their time on recreational rides around town, and this year she will be leading a ride to Boonville Missouri as the Ladies of Harley Representative.

We are very thankful to have Ruth and Lenny as a part of our volunteer family here at the Health Sciences Foundation.

Many other outstanding individuals volunteer their time with the Health Sciences Foundation. Their combined efforts help ensure the success of fundraising events and initiatives. Each volunteer is valued and celebrated as a champion of healthcare in our community. As a gesture of appreciation, the Health Sciences Foundation pairs with the Hospital to host volunteer appreciation events, including an awards reception each spring.

The Health Sciences Foundation always requires volunteers to assist with many of our events and office duties. If you are interested and are able to spare some time to raise funds for patient care, please contact the Health Sciences Foundation’s main office at (807) 345-4673.
