Twin City Refreshments started over fifty-seven years ago as a company with a few catering trucks, and has now grown into a well-established local business, servicing Thunder Bay and the surrounding communities from Kenora to White River.

This regional focus was one reason Owners Allan and Tod Mihalcin decided to make a donation to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation, in the amount of $30,000. “The Foundation needs to be well-funded to ensure the Hospital can best serve the needs of our entire region,” said Allan.

The donation has been designated to the Area of Highest Need at the Hospital, allowing the Health Sciences Foundation to have the flexibility to determine how the money is allocated.

Allan stated that, “The hospital has been there for our family when we have needed them, so to be able to give back, help them remain strong and invest in bringing higher level procedures to our city, is an honour.”

Allan is passionate about the City of Thunder Bay and the Hospital, and sees that a well-funded and expanding Regional Hospital is good for the well-being of our citizens and our regional economy – and it ties into the Twin City Refreshments brand:  Life Well Equipped TM

“We all play a part, and everyone at Twin City is very proud that we are able to make this donation,” Allan added.
