Jeanne Beker Brings Style, Strength and Hope to Thunder Bay This October

Jeanne Beker, Canadian broadcasting and fashion icon, will be the keynote speaker at this year's 2025 Tbaytel Luncheon of Hope — tickets are on sale now for this unforgettable afternoon.

The response has been incredible. Since tickets went on sale to the public on August 6th, the Tbaytel Luncheon of Hope has been generating excitement across the community, and it's clear that Thunder Bay is ready to welcome Canadian icon and breast cancer survivor Jeanne Beker for an unforgettable afternoon of inspiration, style, and community.

On October 17, 2025, guests will gather at the Superior Inn Hotel & Conference Centre to hear Jeanne share her breast cancer story in a keynote address, followed by an intimate fireside chat.

“It's going to be a truly special afternoon—a chance to connect, reflect, and be inspired by a woman whose voice and style have shaped Canadian media and culture for decades,” says Haley Werbowetski, Events Manager with the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.

A pioneer in Canadian media, Jeanne was a founding member of MuchMusic and the iconic host of Fashion Television for 27 years. Since 2015, she has been the Style Editor at The Shopping Channel (TSC), hosting Style Matters and continuing to shape conversations around fashion, identity, and self-expression. A breast cancer survivor herself, Jeanne speaks candidly and compassionately about her own journey, bringing both warmth and wisdom to the stage. Guests can expect an engaging, uplifting talk filled with personal stories, and messages of resilience that will resonate long after the event ends.

This year's Luncheon will be more than just an inspiring keynote. Guests will enjoy a delicious three-course lunch prepared by the Superior Inn Hotel & Conference Centre, and can explore the bustling Vendor Market and Symposium from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be plenty of opportunities to win fabulous prizes, including the Bling Blitz, sponsored by Vince Mirabelli, for a chance to take home a stunning pair of diamond earrings, and the Travel Blitz for a roundtrip flight for two to any regularly scheduled and marketed WestJet destination. Fashion will be front and centre, with Lewk Clothing bringing a fresh style element into the ballroom, and guests can also enjoy a pop-up coffee shop courtesy of Crush Coffee.

With the buzz building, seats are filling fast. Both VIP and General Admission tickets are available now, but they won't last long, in fact, tickets are already a third of the way sold out! If you want to be part of this powerful afternoon, now is the time to reserve your seats.

There's still time to support Thunder Bay's flagship breast cancer event of the year as a sponsor, with opportunities available for individuals and businesses to receive valuable recognition while making a meaningful difference. Sponsorship packages help ensure that events like the Luncheon of Hope continue to uplift and inspire while raising critical funds for breast cancer care close to home.

Proceeds from the Luncheon stay 100% local, supporting the Northern Cancer Fund for breast cancer to ensure that women across Northwestern Ontario can access the care they need, right here in our community. For Haley, that local impact is at the heart of the event's success.

“With Jeanne Beker joining us this year, we felt it was the perfect time to make a few changes,” she says. “We're still keeping all the fan-favourites like the vendor market and the Blitzes, but we're also bringing in some fresh energy—like the fireside chat and encouraging everyone to wear their most fashion-forward pink. We really want the event to feel more fun, more uplifting, and most of all, welcoming. At the end of the day, this is about hope, community, and showing up for one another, and I think this year is going to feel really special.”

Tickets can be purchased now at healthsciencesfoundation.ca/luncheon, where you can also find full event details and learn more about sponsorship and donation opportunities.
