The 4th Annual Bobby Powell Memorial Motorcycle Ice Race will be held on Sunday, March 12th, 2023, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, with races starting at 12:00pm. At the age of 62, Bobby Powell passed away on Christmas Eve, 2018, from a two-and-a-half-year battle with pancreatic cancer. This annual event honours Bobby's long-time support, videography, dedication, and love for the ice racing sport. We are seeking donations, prizes, and sponsors to host this annual event.
All monies raised will go to the Superior Ice Racers and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation supporting The Northern Cancer Fund in memory of Bobby Powell. Our fundraising goal is to purchase a new engraved chemotherapy chair with Bobby's name to honour the countless hours he spent receiving chemotherapy.
