Chad M. of Pembroke is now $2,271,362 richer. As the February Thunder Bay 50/50 grand prize winner, he becomes the 13th multi-millionaire in the lottery's history. Glenn Craig, CEO of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation, caught Chad on the road between cell towers with the now famous 11:00 a.m. call.
Chad and his wife were headed towards North Bay, ON to do some ice fishing with his father when they picked up. When Craig asked what he was going to do with his huge windfall Chad immediately responded “Build my wife her dream home!” he then added “also a new SUV.”
To date, more than $92 million in prizes have been awarded to players across Ontario, while proceeds from every ticket sold support essential equipment at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre helping ensure more patients can access care closer to home.
