Local Physician Receives 2020 Council Award

Dr. Nicole Laferriere, Chief of Oncology and Medical Director at Regional Cancer Care Northwest and our Hospital, is a recipient of a 2020 Council Award.
This award was created by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario to honour outstanding Ontario physicians and to recognize physicians' broad range of diverse roles and abilities. The criteria for selecting award recipients are based on the eight physician roles identified by Educating Future Physicians in Ontario; roles that reflect the many needs and expectations of our society, and a model of the "ideal physician".
Every year, physicians from across Ontario are nominated for the Council Award by colleagues and patients, and by local community leaders. All of the nominations speak to accomplishments of the highest calibre and demonstrate the outstanding qualities of the nominees.
