Cruising for a Cure: Pink Jeep Raffle Raises Record $408,600 for Local Breast Cancer Care

Michael Comuzzi, President of Lakehead Motors, and Haley Werbowetski, Manager of Events for the Health Sciences Foundation, share in the excitement as Cruising for a Cure surpasses its fundraising goal in support of local breast cancer care.

The Cruising for a Cure: Pink Jeep Raffle, in partnership with Lakehead Motors, has achieved an incredible milestone, raising $408,600 for local breast cancer care!

On Friday, January 16th, Loren Forrest of Dundas, Ontario, was announced as the grand prize winner. A former nurse and retired paramedic, Loren is no stranger to the world of healthcare.

Michael Comuzzi, President of Lakehead Motors, had the honor of sharing the good news with her. “This win is a pretty big payback after a career spent caring for others,” Comuzzi said.

Reflecting on the campaign's massive success, Comuzzi admitted he was speechless. “We set an initial goal of $200,000, and to see our community come together and double that is something I never could have imagined. The generosity behind the Jeep raffle has exceeded every expectation.”

The Health Sciences Foundation extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported Cruising for a Cure. A special thanks goes to Lakehead Motors for generously donating the Jeep to make this raffle possible. For the Lakehead Motors team, the cause is personal; cancer has touched their families in very real ways, and this initiative was their way of ensuring patients in Northwestern Ontario receive exceptional care close to home.
