Jeanne Beker has been a trailblazer in arts, culture, and fashion for nearly five decades. As a founding member of MuchMusic and the longtime host of Fashion Television, she brought global style into our homes and became one of Canada's most recognizable media personalities.
Her career began at CBC Radio before she went on to co-host The New Music and later launch Fashion Television, which aired in over 130 countries for 27 years. Jeanne has also made her mark as a newspaper and magazine columnist, bestselling author, podcaster and entrepreneur.
Since 2015, Jeanne has been the Style Editor at The Shopping Channel (TSC), where she hosts the popular show Style Matters and the podcast Beyond Style Matters, continuing to shape the conversation around fashion, identity, and self-expression.
A breast cancer survivor and daughter of Holocaust survivors, Jeanne speaks openly about resilience and reinvention. She is a Member of the Order of Canada and has earned countless accolades—including a star on Canada's Walk of Fame—for her powerful impact on culture and community.
Proceeds from the event will stay 100% local and support the Northern Cancer Fund for breast cancer to ensure that the women of Northwestern Ontario can get the access to care that they need and deserve. The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation is proud to support the cancer centre and the incredible work that is done there every single day. This event is intended to uplift cancer patients, cancer care providers, loved ones of those on their journey or those who have passed, as well as those who believe strongly in ensuring we have the best possible care in our home town.
In addition to this incredible keynote speaker, the event will feature a lovely three-course lunch by the Superior Inn Hotel and Conference Centre, the fan-favourite Bling and Travel Blitz's, an amazing vendor show and penny auction, and organizers are looking at adding even more fun to the day. If you are interested in supporting the event, tickets will be on sale in August but there are also opportunities to get more involved through sponsorship or donations.
We are looking forward to filling the room with fabulous people ready to listen to an incredible story supporting an incredible cause. Keep your eyes on social media because this is one ticket launch you won't want to be fashionably late for… like a seasons best pieces, when they're gone, they're gone!
