Tbaytel Luncheon of Hope Returns October 16 for its 34th Year

TV personality and long-time broadcaster on The Weather Network, Kim MacDonald, is coming to Thunder Bay for the 33rd Annual Tbaytel Luncheon of Hope presented by Alterna Savings.
For 34 years, the Tbaytel Luncheon of Hope has brought our community together in support of breast cancer care close to home. I'm excited to welcome everyone back this October for another meaningful afternoon of hope, inspiration and fundraising.
On Friday, October 16, we'll gather at the Superior Inn Hotel & Conference Centre for the 34th Annual Tbaytel Luncheon of Hope presented by Alterna Savings, raising vital funds for the Northern Cancer Fund. The afternoon begins at 10:30 a.m. with a vendor symposium and penny auction, followed by a three-course lunch at noon.
One of the highlights of this year's luncheon is welcoming Kim MacDonald from The Weather Network. Kim is someone we've invited into our living rooms for almost 30 years through her broadcasting. She is such a warm, personable woman, and I'm so glad to invite her to our hometown to share her story with all of us in person. I truly believe everyone in the room will be able to connect with her.
Kim will share her personal breast cancer journey before taking part in a fireside chat shaped by questions submitted by attendees—an opportunity to hear, in her own words, how she navigated both professional and deeply personal storms.
Guests will also enjoy Luncheon of Hope favourites, including the Bling Blitz, Travel Blitz and a fashion show by Perfect Fit Lingerie featuring breast cancer survivors as models.
We're also introducing something new this year with the Paintilio Community Art Project. Guests can purchase and paint individual tiles that will become part of a five-by-six-foot paint-by-number mural designed by local artist Vik Wilen. Once completed, the mural will be auctioned in support of the Northern Cancer Fund.
This year's theme is Hope Finds Its Silver Lining. While we remember those we've lost along the way and support the women learning to cope with a diagnosis, the Luncheon of Hope also raises important funds that stay local and directly support our Northern Cancer Fund, helping ensure world-class cancer care is available close to home.
Tickets are available as VIP ($125) or general admission ($85). VIP seating includes front-row placement, two bottles of wine, and an elevated tablescape; tables of 8 or 10 are available at both levels. All tickets provide full access to the vendor market, lunch, and all programming.
I hope you'll join us on October 16 for an inspiring afternoon in support of breast cancer care close to home.
