The Thunder Bay August 50/50 Dog Days of Summer is already underway and starting tomorrow, will include a fresh new addition to the campaign. Along with featuring pets submitted by proud pet owners, the Foundation has teamed up with the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society to feature adoptable animals across its platforms, helping them get seen by more potential adopters throughout the month of August.
When planning this year's Dog Days of Summer campaign, the Foundation team saw a chance to do even more with the incredible community engagement the campaign receives. Teaming up with the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society was a natural fit, adding a meaningful way to continue celebrating the pets people love while helping adoptable animals get the attention they need to find a home.
Starting July 30, adoptable dogs from the Humane Society will be featured every Wednesday throughout August on the Foundation's social media and communication channels. Then, on August 8, it's all about the cats. In honour of International Cat Day, the spotlight will turn to the adoptable felines currently in the Humane Society's care, giving them a moment to be seen, shared, and hopefully, adopted.
We're teaming up with the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society in August!
“The Dog Days of Summer is one of our favourite campaigns of the year because, like so many, we're animal lovers too,” says Glenn Craig, Hospital Foundation CEO. “Each year, we receive about 1,000 or more pet photo submissions from people eager to share the animals they love. Teaming up with the Humane Society brought even more heart to the campaign, giving us the chance to help more pets get seen and hopefully find their forever homes. We're proud to use our platform to help pets in need while continuing to raise funds for local healthcare.”
“This partnership means so much to us because it helps amplify what we work towards every day and that's finding loving homes for the animals in our care,” says Stephanie Folino of the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society. “Thanks to the Foundation's platform, our adoptable pets are reaching more people than ever before. That kind of exposure makes a real difference, and we're thankful to be part of something that helps more animals get noticed.”
The Dog Days of Summer is a celebration of the pets we cherish, with a little extra love this year for those still looking for their forever home. Help spread the word by sharing the adoptable animals featured throughout the month.
