A Parade with a Purpose

Catch more than 200 motorcycles riding for a cure on Saturday, June 20, between 9:30 and 10:15 a.m.!

The Tbaytel Motorcycle Ride for Dad is gearing up for another incredible year, and riders are looking forward to roaring through the city in a parade before heading out on a scenic poker run throughout Thunder Bay and the surrounding area. If you're in the Northwood area on the morning of June 20, we encourage you to find a spot along Arthur Street, James Street, or anywhere along the parade route to watch the motorcycles roll by and give the riders a wave as they embark on a day filled with fun, and community.

The event supports the Northern Cancer Fund's prostate cancer initiatives and will help fund new HDR brachytherapy applicators at our Cancer Centre. Brachytherapy is a revolutionary form of high-dose radiation treatment that delivers radiation directly inside the tumour while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue. For eligible prostate cancer patients, this treatment can significantly improve outcomes and quality of life.

Riders have been collecting pledges for months, and there is still time to support their efforts. Donations can be made right up until June 20 by visiting www.ridefordadtbay.ca and selecting a rider to support.

Thinking about joining the ride? Day-of registration is welcome! Registration is $65 and includes a buffet breakfast, participation in the parade and poker run, snacks at route stops throughout the day, a hot lunch from Beefcakes Burger Factory, and the chance to win some fantastic prizes.

The ride takes place rain or shine, and based on the current forecast, we're in for a beautiful day on the road.
