Thunder Bay's Motorcycle Ride for Dad Returns June 14, Backed by Tbaytel and PDR Contracting

Peter, Luuka, Lyle, and Kai Knudsen celebrate 4 generations at the Tbaytel Motorcycle Ride for Dad.

The rumble of engines and the spirit of community will fill the streets of Thunder Bay once again on Saturday, June 14, as riders come together for the 2025 Tbaytel Motorcycle Ride for Dad. This much-loved event rallies support for the Northern Cancer Fund's Urology Fund, directly supporting prostate cancer care across Northwestern Ontario.

Integral to the Ride's ongoing success are two key Thunder Bay companies that know the value of giving back: Tbaytel, the event's title sponsor, and PDR Contracting, serving as the presenting sponsor. Their support doesn't just help make the event possible but also demonstrates a shared commitment to improving health care close to home.

For Tbaytel, their partnership goes beyond sponsorship. As a company with deep local roots, they recognize the importance of investing in initiatives that directly impact the well-being of families in our region. Their ongoing involvement helps fuel the growth and reach of the Ride for Dad year after year — ensuring critical funds remain in the community to strengthen local prostate cancer detection, treatment, and care.

PDR Contracting brings that same spirit to the table. Known for their work in the industrial and commercial sector, they're equally known for stepping up for the community. Supporting the Ride for Dad is a natural fit helping to improve lives across Thunder Bay through community involvement.

Since 2001, the Thunder Bay Motorcycle Ride for Dad has raised over $1.2 million for prostate cancer care in the region. Thanks to sponsors like Tbaytel and PDR Contracting, the event continues to thrive — with fundraising efforts helping to enhance surgical care, including the addition of a new operating bed for the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System now in use at our hospital. It's the kind of investment that's making a real difference for men facing prostate cancer.

Every dollar raised through the Ride stays local, going directly to the Northern Cancer Fund's Urology Fund. That means more advanced tools for earlier diagnosis, more precise treatment, and more care delivered close to home. For patients and families, it's the kind of support that eases both the journey and the worry that often comes with it.

The day kicks off with a hot breakfast at the Superior Inn Hotel and Conference Centre, followed by the “Roar for the Cure” — a powerful parade of engines rolling through the city streets. From there, riders will then set off on a scenic poker run around Thunder Bay, stopping at a number of local route stops along the way.

The Tbaytel Motorcycle Ride for Dad presented by PDR Contracting is more than just an event. It's a community movement fueled by compassion, teamwork, and a shared commitment to improving health outcomes for men in Thunder Bay and beyond. Tbaytel and PDR Contracting's support strengthens this movement and helps make a meaningful difference in countless lives.
