On Friday, May 31st, the full roster of Bachelors from the Thunder Bay Professional Firefighters Association took the stage at the 25th Annual Ascend Fundraising Solutions' Bachelor for Hope Charity Auction, all raising money for the Northern Cancer Fund in support of Breast Cancer.

The 10 Bachelors spent weeks practicing their dance routine, assisted by Renegade Performing Arts, while juggling shift restrictions and personal commitments. In addition, they recruited friends and relatives to support them by pledging funds to support Breast Cancer.

They did a fabulous job – raising over $18,000. The top earner was Jean-Francois Breton raising $4,575 with some of the other Bachelors close behind.

In the end, they not only raised a tremendous amount but accomplished a production that was worthy of an enthusiastic response from the crowd of over 250 ladies.

As well as the very popular group dance, each Bachelor auctioned off a prize package worth thousands of dollars. Each Bachelor introduced their auction prize with their own unique song choice and dance moves. It was very entertaining and each Bachelor drew a large fan base!

We were fortunate to secure Spencer Hari as our emcee who did a fabulous job as well as our Auctioneer Kevin Cernjl who kept the night rolling.

A huge thank you to all the generous businesses that donated prizes and services totalling a value of $17,000. Each auction prize was robust including fun activities and glamorous items, appealing to all tastes.

The guest speaker, Lynn Gray, from the Bookkeeper 4 You, provided a positive and uplifting speech which emphasized the importance of a strong support system when you are going through breast cancer treatment.

After all the fun activities of the evening, a cheque presentation took place recognizing a total of $77,003.00 being raised.

A special thank you to Matt from the City of Thunder Bay Transit, who arranged bus service to Nortenos Taqueria for the after party.

Many thanks to everyone who attended, donated and supported this great event.

A special thank you to my committee: Laurie Clark, Kobi-Lynne Perry, Lis Masdea, Mary Nucci, Roberta Sawchyn, Laura Wood and Staff Selena Owen & Haley Werbowetski

So what is next for the Bachelors for Hope Charity Auction – Stay Tuned!!!
