The Schreiber Back Northerners snowmobile group recently held a Winter Carnival Snowmobile Poker Run that had participants snowmobile through the forest, along mountain tops overlooking beautiful scenery while travelling over frozen ponds and lakes on well groomed and flagged trail as they collected cards from camps on their way. Each of their members donated their time, snowmachines, gas and tools to provide a terrific family fun-filled day.

This year, the group selected several organizations to receive proceeds from the event, including the Tbaytel Tamarack House, a home-away-from home for patients undergoing cancer treatment. The group noted that, “The Tbaytel Tamarack House is truly invaluable for oncology patients from our region, let alone our small community of Schreiber. We certainly do not have to look far to seek out someone who has benefited from the services provided and fabulous staff. It is our honour to present this donation to support the patients and families who used this facility.”

Dan Boon, pictured above, has used the Tbaytel Tamarack House himself and had previously helped out the Poker Run with trail grooming and flagging but was unable to do so the past few years. He was delighted to present the donation of $700 from the Schreiber Back Northerners.
