May Thunder Bay 50/50 grand prize winner Kevin Mongeau of Val Caron, who won $2,454,522, is pictured with his partner, Keyana, and their daughter.
Kevin Mongeau of Val Caron is the winner of the May Thunder Bay 50/50 grand prize draw of $2,454,522.
Mongeau was up a ladder at work when he received the “famous” Friday phone call from Health Sciences Foundation CEO Glenn Craig. Before sharing the life-changing news, Craig thought it best to have Mongeau get down from the ladder first not wanting any unintended injuries when he got the news that he is now a multi-millionaire.
Hearing he had won $2,454,522, Mongeau summed up the moment simply: "That sounds pretty good. I'm shaking right now."
When asked what he planned to do with the money, Mongeau said, "Probably build a house. I have a two-year-old daughter, we're just renting right now, and I think I want to build a house with it."
To date, over $100 million in prizes have been awarded to players across Ontario, while proceeds from every ticket sold support essential equipment at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, helping ensure more patients can access care closer to home.
June's draw is now open! Here's what's happening:
-
$125,000 in total early bird prizes
-
A $25,000 draw on June 5th
-
Twenty-five early bird draws of $1,000 on June 12th
