Michael's 1,000 km Ride

Friday, May 1, 2020

Michael Vita is a 9-year old boy from Thunder Bay, Ontario.  He’s always been very athletic and, due to being home during the COVID-19 pandemic, he decided he wanted to set a big goal for himself and raise money for the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (a facility he’s used many times!)

Michael’s goal is to ride 1,000 km between May 1 - Sept 1, 2020 and raise donations along the way. He’s asking for a minimum 5c/km donation, which equates to $50 if he finishes all 1,000 km and he is determined to do so. He’s chosen to give to the Area of Highest Need through the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation because he wants to help ‘everyone at the Hospital get better’.

He’s very grateful for the support he’s received thus far and wants to say thank you to everyone who will support him on this Ride.

(Side note - ever since he’s been able to ride without training wheels he’s been begging to do the Caribou Charity Ride...now the Central Canada Charity Ride. One day, when he’s old enough, he will!)
