HOPE Always Present

"Doctors call me a walking miracle!" says Glenice Quesnelle, who has been a breast cancer survivor for over 30 years.

"I've been through all the steps of cancer care here in Thunder Bay. I was treated in the Port Arthur General, then the clinic beside the General, and now in the new Hospital. I wanted to do something to give back to the people who've helped me all these years."

On October 30th Glenice took it upon herself to hold a fundraiser at the Elks. She paid for the entire thing out of pocket, and only asked for donations at the door, to support local cancer care. She expected 50 people, and over 100 showed up to support the cause!

"I'm just so happy I was able to do this. The donations were amazing. I'll be doing it again next year!"

Glenice donated $2,500 to our Northern Cancer Fund – $2,000 for better breast cancer care, and $500 for better lung cancer care in memory of her friend Yvonne Mithrush.

Thank you for making HOPE possible for patients in Thunder Bay & Northwestern Ontario, Glenice!
